About Me

My name is Rebekah Jean Breece, and I am the artist behind That Purple Dandelion Studios. Born on a Naval base in Rota, Spain, I’ve lived most of my life in South Carolina. I’ve been drawing with the goal of becoming a professional artist since I was 11. In May 2025, I received my BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Drawing. My work mostly pulls on themes of the complexity of human emotions, perseverance, and the oddity found in everyday life. I love pulling on visuals that I grew up with, things like comics and cartoons. Animals and plants are very intriguing to me as I feel that they can be used as apt symbols for so much of our experiences. I think life is much weirder than we often give it credit for, and I try to reflect that wonderful oddity in my own work.
